On advice from a Garmin review, I bought this item as a case for my Garmin nüvi 265W 4.3-Inch Widescreen GPS Navigator. The Garmin fit perfectly and was held in place securely. In many ways this case is superior to the more expensive case available from Garmin. The Garmin is well protected and there is room to store other small items. This case, however, is considerably bulkier than the minimalistic case available from Garmin, and is perhaps a bit too large for a purse.

Mini Folio Issues – Dr. Mom –
The folio is useful for protecting the DS Lite itself; however, the pockets that are included to hold the game cards are poorly constructed. Two of the six pockets are too small to actually insert the cards and ripped apart my first attempt to use them.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Combat Controller for Xbox 360 – Camo Review

I have to start by saying that I prefer wired controllers. I would rather not have to use batteries or chargers and I like the full vibration only wired controllers produce. I needed a new wired controller and I love MW2 so this controller was very intriguing. I will first start with the cons.

CONS: The only problem I have with this controller is the button mapping on the back of the controller. The buttons are awkwardly placed and don’t work all the time.

These are more personal to me and my hands: This controllers left and right thumb sticks have a slick surface opposed to the standard controllers’ rubber surface. I took a while for me to get used to this but when I did it was fine.

Also I have big hands and I have to hold the controller differently than I do the standard. It is not uncomfortable but again might take some getting used to.

PROS: The thumb sticks (and all buttons) are extremely sensitive. Even the slighted of movements are detected. This is great so quick sniping. I also have better accuracy with my grenade tosses. I believe my shooting has improved.

Feels great in your hands, Looks wicked, Great Amazon price. I have already recommended it to my fellow comrades.

the pretty:
> it lights up, with is only for the bling-bling factor, but it does make it easier to spot in the dark.

the ugly:
> poor quality: there is a slight creep in the controls. If you place the unit on a table, hands-free… mine will slowly start a creeping movement to the left. for a sub controller, seriously? i mean this thing looks solid, but I have found it to be only skin deep.
> you cannot attach the snap-on keyboard to this controller.
> trigger response seems delayed after continued use: while i really can’t say this is it for sure, but lately the response time on shooting or even nothing happening after pulling the trigger is a concern. I switched back the microsoft wireless controller and felt much better response time.

bottom line:
too expensive for wired, back-lighted controller.

The Controller made for the game doesn’t work with the game – J. Wylie –
I’ll start off by saying the controller feels awesome in your hand. It in fact feels so good I hate that I dislike it so much. The problems are:

#1, the space between the RB and the RT buttons are too wide. You really do have to grip the controller with one finger dedicated to both buttons. I can’t get used to having my middle finger be my trigger finger. I need one finger access to both. This may or may not be a gripe for you.

#2, The extra buttons they put on the back are too high and inside. So from point #1 your pointer and middle fingers have to rest on those two RB, RT buttons. So to access this extra button you have to use your ring finger to reach up high on the back and push it. It works as advertised but makes no sense.

#3, To run in this game you have to push down on the left stick and click it (L3 button they call it). You cannot click the L3 button while moving forward, the controller just won’t let you. In the normal, centered position you can click L3 all day. Well there is a way to bypass that issue, just use the extra button on the back to sprint but wait…. you have to go back to point #2 now.

It could have been a great controller. The feel is right, the lights are cool, the triggers are amazing and I would have loved to used them but those 3 problems were big dealbreakers for me.

My son loves this game, but he gets a little frustrated with it. He is 5, almost 6, and I wish we would have waited to give it to him until he had more experience with DS games. He really enjoys it when it isn’t too difficult, but it seems to get a little hard compared to some other games he has – like the Hot Wheels Beat That game (we LOVE it). This game is a little different to steer and not quite as easy.
I know it will be a favorite eventually, it is very cute to watch and listen to the characters!

Age of Empires III: The WarChiefs Expansion Pack Review

First, let me make it clear that this is an expansion pack to Age of Empires III. You have to own a copy of that game first. I know that might trip some people up, so let’s get that out of the way.

When I bought this game, I expected to get some new indian civilizations out of it. I got a lot more. First, all the graphics for the game are better – not just for the new civilizations but for all of them. Second, the indians come along with new cards (of course), but again also new cards for your other civilizations. Now I can have the French build a Saloon to train mercenaries. And the Dutch can train some Ninja’s (who have a new stealth skill). Very fun! There are also several new maps which I really liked. Of course there is also a new Scenario in two Acts. I thought most of the levels in the Scenario were well done, but a couple of them were just annoying. That didn’t stop me from playing through to the last one – Custer’s Last Stand!

Some aspects of game play are also better for all civilizations: the healers, for example, just always heal anyone nearby who is resting. You no longer have to tell them to heal.

In short, I wasn’t expected the whole AOE III to get better, but it did – in every way. I have really enjoyed this pack and am looking forward to purchasing the Asian Dynasties soon.

Fallout 3 Review

I’ll admit, that previously I’ve been drawn to games with a fairly linear gameplay style. Not linear in the way that there’s only one single path and it can only be traversed one way, but linear in the way that the game can baby you and keep you on the right track, even if you’re given a decent scope to explore.

Well it turns out that I was just looking for the right massive, open game. Because here you’re free to be your own man. Sure, you can tackle the main quest and it’s decent. But the real treat is the exploration. There’s a positively huge world to explore, and even more underground.

Lets say you have some kind of vendetta against the raiders. They roam the Wastes, pillaging like metal-head versions of pirates, and you don’t like them. Maybe out of strong sense of justice, or maybe one of them just looked at you funny. Well feel free to wander around, picking them off from on-high with a rifle, sneaking in to set up mines before tossing in a grenade to stir up some carnage, or put on your power armor and run in, guns blazing.

There’s a big town, the first one you’re likely to come across, with an undetonated atomic bomb sitting in the middle. You can take it on as a mission from the town sheriff to disarm it, or have the mysterious Mister Burke rope you in to rigging it up to blow. And you’re fully capable of doing so, climbing to the top of Tenpenny Tower, and watching the mushroom cloud in the distance as you vaporize the city, and all its residences. It’s all up to you. Scurge of the wastes, savior, or anywhere in between. Get into the slave trade business, or shoot your way through the traders’ encampment and free the slaves.

The only legitimate complaints I know of for the game are the controls with the VATS targeting system, but you don’t even really have to use it. In fact it’s often better and more fun not to. Sometimes the game doesn’t even feel like an RPG. Sometimes it’s an action game, sometimes it’s a shooter, but it’s always an adventure.

The graphics are… terrific. Sure everyhing’s grainy and brown and dark and bleak. But somehow it manages to be pretty anyway. Everything might be ugly, but it’s ugly in a really good looking way. I’m trying to think of a celebrity to use as an example, but feel that would be in bad tastes.

The facial animations can tend to be a little robotic, but the voice acting is top-notch and lively, from everyone. And in a game with so much dialog, that’s very welcome.

Speaking of sound, I was surprised to end up really loving the soundtrack. And I don’t mean the ominous background tracks made for atmosphere, but the 1940s hits played from the game’s “Galaxy News Radio”. I, being a youngster, never even heard any of this music. But after having it as a constant companion in my fares across the Wastes I grew to love it.

My first time through Fallout 3 I played for over 60 hours, and didn’t even do everything (keep in mind I did add four of the add-on packs). And just a few days ago I started a new file.

Speaking of add-on packs, there are five. Broken Steel, Mothership Zeta, Point Lookout, The Pitt, and Operation: Anchorage. Personally, I found Operation Anchorage to be boring and linear. The Pitt was similar, but with a better story and an uglier world to explore. Point Lookout is a valuable addition. And Broken Steel continues the main story and raises the level cap. I haven’t played Mothership Zeta, so I can’t comment. But I only recommend Broken Steel and Point Lookout (which are offered together on a buyable disc if you don’t have access to XBOX Live). The standalone Fallout 3 is the most powerful and by comparison the add-ons fall short in general.

But in all, I found Fallout 3 to be a fantastic game, in my top-ten list of all time. And in a game-playing career of somewhere around fourteen years, that’s saying something. If you’re on the fence about whether or not to buy, I’d say buy.

No game can compete with Fallout 3 – Nobody – Colorado
I rented this twice and never got more than an hour into it. After a year of still wondering what there was to be discovered on that disk, I broke down and bought it. It’s so hard to get momentum and I was overwhelmed beyond belief for the first 15 hours. Then it took off and everything else I’ve played seems boring in comparison, and I thought Oblivion, San Andres, etc.. were all incredible. The gameplay has everything you’d want from a save anywhere anytime feature to mostly non-respawning enemies to adjustable difficulty. The exploration music is fantastic and the graphics are rediculous.

The size of the game boggles the mind, you’d think it took ten years to create. The variety of places and people you meet, choices you make, guilt you feel, this isn’t even a game, it’s like jacking into the matrix. The only downside is if you don’t have enough time to invest, you might lose sleep over wondering whatelse there is out there in the wasteland. I can’t wait to buy and explore the add-on’s.

I just can’t believe I tried it twice and almost missed out the most rock-solid gaming experience out there.

This is one of the finest boxing games available on the PS3, especially for the graphics and controls. The AI can be rewarding/challenging and you may find yourself picking up on some strategy early on. The ‘build your fighter’ option is highly customizable and the training can be as fun as the boxing.. kindof like a minigame.
What destroys this game is the extremely long load times on the main menu and between fights. It’s literally 4 or 5 seconds wait time, ever single time you move to another option in the main menu. This may not kill it for everyone, but I’d warn that you rent this game first to see if you can handle it.
I’ve got Fight Night Round 4 now.. equally good gameplay but without the excessive load/wait times and it does seem to be a more straightforward, professional title over Round 3.

– you can get this game for – used just about everywhere — but I recommend that you use that money towards Round 4 if you have to have a boxing game.

This game is one of the best boxing games I’ve EVER played – however, the load times are ridiculous. You’d think they would make better use of the PS3’s hard drive to reduce this, but alas, they didn’t. At times it feels like you have to wait for the game to load after every punch (see Playstation 1 vs. Sega Saturn), which is what puts a real damper on the gameplay – just when you’re hyped up for the next fight, you have to get up, grab a drink, use the restroom. then sit and wait some more… Fun: 10 out of 10. Gameplay: 2 out of 10 just because of the load times.

Truly a plug and charge device although you have to remove the wii remote plastic cover I did not have to remove the wrist straps to charge them. Only problem i guess there is, is that there are no instructions or at least none in my package except for a plastic label on the back of the batteries but, other than that none. so im not really sure who to call or contact if down the line I have troubleshooting problems. but so far so good.

It comes with a power cord USB type that plugs in the back of your wii its short though so you will have to set it up close to your console. When charging or powered rather the lights will glow blue when fully charged. The batteries will still charge when the wii is on yellow light standby but if the wii is shut down completely to the red light the charging dock will shut of as well. These were some things I had to figure out my self being that there was no instruction manual.

All in all it works great batteries last long and looks cool when charging. Don’t know what the long term will bring but for now its perfect. I recommend this product for wii owners. Its cost efficient and does what its supposed too. a really good buy.

I found I didn’t provide a review for this although I bought it a while back. This is the best solution if you want to mod a PS2 and store all your games on an internal hard drive. Get a copy of Swap Magic and load HDLoader on a small crappy USB stick. It will allow you to copy all your ORIGINAL & LEGAL games straight to the hard drive and save wear and tear on your fat PS2. 120GB hard drive limit as far as I know. Although it’s so easy to swap them out if just use a few 120’s. Had mine going for over a year without any issues.

NCAA Basketball 10 Review

I previously owned March Madness 2005 and Hoops 2K8, both for PS2. I know there are a lot of die hard 2K fans, but I really like the EA games better. In fact, I preferred MM 2005 over 2K8. I thought MM 2005 had a better “floor” angle camera which made me feel like I was in the game. 2K8 players seemed too shiny and the crowd noise bothered me as it seemed like it played in a constant loop with an annoying whistle.

That said, NCAA basketball 10 is a huge improvement over both of those games. First off, the graphics are much better, which should be a given since we’re comparing PS2 vs. PS3. There are a lot of little cool features that are at least new to me since I haven’t bought the EA version of the game since 2005:
-Real schedules (dynamic update required)
-Live scores and ESPN radio at the main menu. This seems to udpate several times per day.
-Real weather updates from your favorite school
-Easily download the rosters of real players names and the announcers will say SOME of the player’s last names during the game

I really enjoyed the dynasty mode in MM 2005, but never got into it in 2K8. There doesn’t seem to be that many improvements to the dynasty mode in 2010, but that doesn’t bother me as much because I really enjoy online matches. Playing against real opponents is much more fun than playing agains the AI computer. Online games are generally fast (80% of the time), but once in awhile you’ll get a choppy connection. It is fairly easy to find an opponent if you select “Play Now”. Finding opponents to play in the lobbies is much more difficult. Online matches are fun too, because you get ranked compared to all other people.

The only bad part about playing online is 50% of my opponents seem to choose Kentucky, but they are pretty easy to beat if you double-team John Wall (point guard).

As other people have noted, there are some glitches. The one that I’ve seen the most is there is a bad camera angles that occur every once in awhile for an entire game. The only way to explain it is that the camera is not centered around the ball. For instance, when shooting a free throw, sometimes it shows the players feet, which makes no sense. This happens 1 out of every 20 games or so.

Another glitch is the crowd noise sometimes is really wrong. In a few games, the crowd booed the entire game, even when I was the home team and I was winning.

Other things that could be improved:
-There is no traveling in the game
-There are no “held / jump balls “, even though they have possession arrows
-The auto-subs needs to improve with the default settings (for online play). Michigan State will never sub during a 10-minute half during online play unless someone gets into foul trouble.

Overall, however, this game is a lot of fun and I recommend it if you’re into college basketball. It’s nice to have an option to not listen to Dick Vitale and choose CBS sports instead.

PSP 3000 Limited Edition Rock Band Unplugged Entertainment Pack – Black Review

My first PSP. I love it. I was not sure about Rockband. But it is one of favorite games on the PSP so far. I lucked out on Amazon before Christmas I got the bundle for 169.99. Amazon’s prices flucuate so you have to watch carefully. I would not recommend downloading any movies (It takes too long and most movies are just under 2 Gigs of memory) instead just buy the UMD. Save your 4 gig card for free demo games on the Playstation network and full games. Games usually take from 70 MB (Pixeljunk Monsters)to about 700 MB(Ratchet and Clank-Size matters). Before you buy games check the memory required and if the file is large buy the UMD otherwise download it to your PSP memory. I would reccomend the PSP 3000 vs. the PSP Go for this reason and the fact that the 3000 has a larger screen.

Lost Planet Extreme Condition: Colonies Edition Review

I only played this in single player mode, so I can’t comment on the multiplayer mode.

This is a futuristic scifi game consisting of eleven levels. It can be played in First Person or Third Person. I found First Person mode to be as good as any other FPS, except your weapon doesn’t show as it does on most FPS games, which didn’t bother me in the least.

The setting is on a mostly barren snow-covered planet with both indoor and outdoor environments. Weapons consist of both conventional and energy weapons. Conventional weapons include an assault gun, shot gun, rocket launcher and grenades. Energy weapons are laser and plasma pulse weapons including some plasma grenades.

Much of the game is played using Vital Suits (VS). These are armed mechanical walkers you climb into that mount an interchangeable weapon on each arm. These weapons are similar to the weapons you carry on foot, except much larger. On the conventional side there is a Gatling gun, shot gun, grenade launcher, and rocket launcher. In addition there are a variety of guided and unguided energy weapons. You can change how the VS suit is armed by picking up different weapons.

The key to the game is the thermal energy (T-ENG) substance that is required to stay alive on the cold barren planet. In addition to replenishing your health, the T-ENG also provides the power to operate the VS walkers as well as all of the energy weapons. T-ENG is available throughout the game, but if you run out, you will only be able to use your conventional weapons and will not be able to use the Vital Suits.

I found the graphics to be up to current standards. Although not bleeding edge, lighting, terrain, and textures provide for an exceptional variety of visually thrilling environments. The selection of weaponry is more than adequate and the many enemies are creatively designed with an array of attack methods that keep you from getting bored.

The game ran smooth with no patches required at the time I played it. You can choose whether to run a Direct X 9 (DX9) or DX10. I ran it on DX10 with everything set to max on my 3GHz core 2 duo with dual SLI-linked 8800GTS 512 GPUs. It comes with a built in performance test that shows you the frame rate through a short clip. The frame rate is also displayed during game play in the upper left.

To me, the game was dominated by the level boss fights. Getting through each level was only moderately challenging up until you get to the level boss, which took me multiple attempts to kill on every level. I found the Level 4 boss to be the toughest and wound up looking up a walk-through and viewing a youtube video to figure out how to get through it. A couple of the level bosses are relatively easy, but still enjoyable and innovative. I only managed to get through two levels in less than an hour (it tabulates your total game playing time).

Cut scenes and story line were interesting and entertaining. Voice acting was pretty good, although there were no celebrity voices. The character art was about the best I’ve seen in any game. The villains looked appropriately evil without being over the top and the good guys were dashingly heroic. The main girl character was the cutest of any game I’ve played and her movements were distinctly feminine without being overly sexy.

There was only one real downside to this game and that’s the fact that you can’t manually save your progress. If you quit the game it will start you off next time at the last “waypoint” and it’s not always clear when you’ve passed a waypoint. I always played until I got killed rather than quit in the middle of a level and not know how far it would set me back. If you die in a level boss fight, it will always start over at the beginning of the level boss fight. The game is about average length by current standards. You can probably count on about 12-20 hours of play depending on how easily you can defeat the level bosses.

I highly recommend this game as a fun FPS especially since it’s available new for less than from third party merchants. I paid and believe it was a steal.

PS3 Guitar Hero World Tour Guitar Kit Review

I like the guitar kit for fact I love the guitar anyhow. If I do in the future wanna add drums separately and a mic I can although I ain’t one who likes to sing anyhow. The songs on here are good, boss battles are fun as well. I like the fact now you can make your own songs. The playstation 3 store has lots of good add ons too extra songs as well. I chose the ps3 version for that reason alone over the wii and such as I liked the psn addons .The graphics are excllent. game play is really fun as one comes to expect from this game. I haven’t tried any of the rockband games yet but may in the future. I like how you can also make your own avatar and personalize him or her which seems new to this as well. There are many features on this that one will have hours of fun with. Pick this up if your interested in a really fun game for the ps3 that all members of the family and your friends can enjoy. Plus you can also use the guitar to play “bass” instead if you rather play that instead of the guitar. ITs avery fun game and a good way to learn about music and play it.

Just spent the past 32 hours beating Bayonetta on so called (HARD). WAY too Hard for most people to play, hell very easy is easy and easy is normal wtf is up with that.
but i loved the game had so much fun playing it a must have for DMC fans. Besides all the loading times and HUGE Boss battles (Epic Boss Battles lol) all in all i give it a 5 star for fun loved it every second of it.
