Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2

Manufacturer: Activision Publishing
The largest army of super heroes in gaming is back. The highly anticipated sequel to 2006's Marvel:Ultimate Alliance, heralded as the best Marvel super hero game of all time, and selling more than 4 million units worldwide, is finally here with Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2. Inspired by the acclaimed Marvel civil war storyline, this action-RPG delivers once again on a colossal cast of characters, thrilling gameplay and impassioned alliances. This next-gen gaming experience leaves the fate of the Marvel universe and humankind, in your hands. Lines are drawn. Sides are chosen. And the ultimate question remains: Whose side are you on?
The Marvel universe is being torn apart. You and your team of Marvel super heroes help Nick Fury launch a secret pre-emptive strike against Latveria and Lucia Von Bardas only to have to thwart her retalitaory attack on New York City. Coupled with other super hero incidents, public sentiment turns against super heroes. The Superhuman Registration Act becomes law and super heroes must register as weapons of mass destruction, and become licensed government agents with the United States government. Lines are drawn as Iron Man leads the pro-registration faction, while Captain America spearheads the stand on anti-registration. You must pick a side and fight to determine the fate of the universe and humankind. So, whose side are you on. Playable Characters Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 will feature a wide array of playable heroes and villains, some of which are available from the beginning of the game, while others will need to be unlocked. Although the final list was not available at publishing time, some of the faces from the Marvel universe that players can count on seeing include: Daredevil, Green Goblin, Human Torch, Invisible Woman, Hulk, Captain America, Iron Man, Luke Cage, Mr. Fantastic, Deadpool, Juggernaut, Thing, Spider-Man, Storm, Songbird, Thor, Iron Fist, Wolverine, Venom and Gambit. Gameplay As with the original Marvel Ultimate Alliance, the new version of the game is an action RPG in which players create their own fighting team made up of four super heroes/villains. The makeup of teams can be changed as the player chooses, and characters can be leveled up as they gain experience and the game progresses. In addition, the separate powers of super heroes can be combined, or "fused," resulting in unique abilities that are devastating in combat. The game contains over 250 of these fused powers that only await the right combination in battle to be released. Key Game Features

I LOVED THIS GAME!
i actually loved this game. actually, i played it for like 25 minutes TOPS but i am anticipating playing it more. i guess i understand everyone's frustration (not being able to play with Psylocke, Magneto, and Juggernaut and others) but i highly recommend this game! i'm glad i wasn't aware of the features that were suppose to have been included because i guess i would be upset as well but because i DIDNT know (until NOW) that definitely wont' deter my fun! THANKS ACTIVISION!

BEWARE OF THE UNREADABLE DISC ERROR!
WARNING - Buy this game at your own risk, this title happens to join the apparently not so short list of games made by Activision ("Prototype" and even the übber famous "Modern Warfare 2" are on this list too!) with the tendency to crash either the first time you put it into your Xbox 360 or days after that, there is no real solution for this error so far and no explanation whatsoever for what causes it. My copy started showing the "Unreadable disc error" from the get go, however I got lucky and it worked for a couple of days, then it got worse again and now I can't even start the game, my Xbox 360 keeps showing the same error, and sometimes it shows it as if is was a video DVD, either way I can't play it anymore. I'm not the only victim. You have been warned.

Ultimate Fun (with Microsoft/Marvel causing one serious problem)
This game is a total blast. I played through it once when I got it, purchased the downloadable extra characters, and played through it again on the hardest level. I had a blast. I have been an X-men fan for as long as I can remember, so I played the game mostly with characters from the X-men universe (Wolverine, Storm, and Magneto are very good additions to your ultimate alliance). So I can't speak for how well all the characters work in the game, but I can tell you there are A LOT of teams you can make and try out.
If you played Marvel Ultimate Alliance 1, the general game play is the same: beat baddies, crack open crates, find hidden objects, level-up your characters. There is an added "Fusion" combo power that uses two of your team members' powers to make an awesome bad-guy smashing attack. Graphics have been upgraded from MUA1. Great story with two diverging story arcs to play.
I am not great at video games (generally speaking), and I hate jumping-at-precisely-timed-moments-to-avoid-bottomless-pits-only-to-fail-and-restart-the-whole-level genre, So I LOVED Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2. I play to relax and have fun not for frustration-induced stroke. MUA2 is wonderful game that has challenges without headaches. I loved it so much that I bought my brother a copy for Christmas (2009).
Here is the big problem I have with Microsoft and Marvel about this game. I have the downloadable characters, my brother does not and CAN NOT: after January 1st (2010) the DLC was no longer available on Xbox live. So my brother and I can NEVER play this game together over xbox live because we do not have compatible versions of the game. Were I to delete the DLC from my xbox 360 (to mike mine compatible with his), I would not only NOT have the extra characters, but could NEVER GET THEM BACK because they have been removed from xbox live. So if you buy this game and your friends and family have had the game for a while, check with them to see if they have the downloadable content. If they do, you CANNOT play with them over live (you guys can of course share a console--the local multiplayer is fun too, but not possible if friends and family live far away)

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2
I love this game a lot better then the first just wish the DLC was still available to purchase for both the first and second they made the game a lot more fun with the different characters to level

Not bad
I know I am late on this, but I had the first one on PC and the control button assignments kept me from finishing the game( I had the PC XBox 360 control). So when the next chapter came out, I was determined to get it on the console.
The game is more or less the same as the first one and plays roughly the same. It is not a mind-blowing game, but something you want to play regardless - especially if you like Marvel (I may not like it as much anymore since Disney bought them)! The graphics have marginally improved but their are more things to pick up, throw and destroy than in the first. The one difference between the console and the PC is, the 360 is in 720P and does not look that great on a 1080P set. The PC has higher resolutions/better video cards so the graphics end up looking better. All in all, a good game to pass the time. For the next one, I expect more innovation and better control over changing direction or looking around while on a stage.
