Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Review

I thought the previous game was really good but this one is even better. More guns and more challenges. The graphics are stunning and realistic. The single player is fun but I think the online gaming is where it’s at. I highly recommend this game. It is well worth the money….you might not get much sleep and come in to work late but….still worth it.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Feature

  • Epic single-player campaign picks up immediately following the thrilling events from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
  • The definitive multiplayer experience returns, with a host of new perks and enhancements
  • New cooperative SpecOps mode, the perfect combination of Modern Warfare’s single player intensity and the addictive replayability of its multiplayer
  • Special Ops Mode allows two players, either alone or with a friend, to engage in unique mission play and features split-screen functionality.
  • `Modern Warfare 2¿ contains new and updated weapons, new weapons attachments, and a variant of the multiplayer weapons customization system from `Call of Duty 4¿, now available in the single player campaign.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Overview

Acclaimed developer Infinity Ward brings you Modern Warfare 2, the sequel to the best-selling shooter of all-time, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Specifications

Modern Warfare 2 is a first-person tactical shooter and the sixth entry in the popular Call of Duty series. True to its name and following the lead of its predecessor, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, it places players in modern combat settings, as opposed to the WWII environments of the earlier Call of Duty games. This modern approach brings with it new weapons, action and options. Coupled with a variety of gameplay modes including single player, multiplayer and the co-op Special Ops Mode, it is destined to be one of the most popular games of 2009 and a worthy addition to the Call of Duty series.

Story
The storyline of Modern Warfare 2 picks up where the events of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare left off. The ultranationalist Russian leader Zakhaev has been eliminated, but it seems that his lieutenant, Vladimir Makarov, is an even bigger danger. Having made a successful play for power, Intel indicates that he is extending the reach of his influence well beyond the borders of Mother Russia, causing a stir in the international community and prompting the involvement of Task Force 141. Task Force 141 is an elite multinational unit made up of Navy Seals, Delta Force operatives, British SAS and CIA. In the single player campaign you are Sergeant Gary “Roach” Sanderson, with the hero of Call of Duty 4, “Soap” MacTavish, promoted to Captain, making an appearance as an NPC (non-player character) and your commanding officer. The elimination of Makarov and his underlings at any cost is your number one priority, regardless where the fight occurs.

Gameplay
The latest release in arguably the most successful tactical first-person shooter franchise of all-time, gameplay in Modern Warfare 2 follows the same winning and time-tested structure of earlier games in the series. In the single player campaign players are aided by AI squad members as they take on a series of missions aimed at eliminating Ultranationalist forces. Each mission is built around a particular objective, with players utilizing some level of guidance from NPC characters, including “Soap” MacTavish, and aided in navigation by the game’s heads up display (HUD). Along the way players will be able to utilize a wide variety of weaponry and and vehicles, as well as be able to customize weapons with gadgets attached to them.

Also, just as in previous games in the series, Modern Warfare 2 is heavily focused on multiplayer gameplay. The different multiplayer modes, available both in local play and online, contain plenty of customization options and revolve around different strategies ranging from the every man for himself action of “Free-for All,” the classic team-based fun of “Capture the Flag and the tactical, team-oriented action of “Search and Destroy,” just to name a few. Multiplayer modes also feature the “Perk” System that players may be familiar with from earlier in the franchise. Through this system players gain additional abilities, weapons and benefits as they gain experience in combat. This can be done by leveling up, but another important way way is through “kill streaks,” the number of enemies eliminated in succession. These are available beginning with three kills and include the ability to call for supply drops, predator missile strikes, helicopter gunships and many more. Players have the ability to customize in advance which perks will be available at each number and can even gauge their progress towards each at the touch of a button. With an eye towards not making the game too hard for new players the game also features help to players experiencing “death streaks,” multiple consecutive deaths in multiplayer matches.

Special Ops Co-op Mode
Along with a single player mode and multiple multiplayer modes, Modern Warfare 2 also features an unique third main play option, Special Ops Mode. Available both online and in local play, Special Ops Mode is designed to provide a distinct time-based play option, featuring special scenarios not found in other modes in the game and lots of enemies to take on. This mode can be played either alone or with a friend, again either locally or online, with local co-op play including split-screen functionality.

Key Game Features

  • Challenging Multiplayer ModesModern Warfare 2 will contain a wealth of multiplayer modes including: the every man for himself action of “Free-for All,” the classic team-based fun of “Capture the Flag and the tactical, team-oriented action of “Search and Destroy.”
  • Improved AI Enemies – Improved artificial intelligence now allows enemies to attack from virtually any direction as players respawn into the game adding additional challenges.
  • An All-new Call of Duty AdventureModern Warfare 2 features an all new Call of Duty storyline revolving around the continuing struggles against the Russian rebel group the Ultranationalists, who have found a new and more dangerous leader.
  • The ‘Special Ops’ Optional Co-op Mode – “Special Ops” Mode allows two players, either alone or with a friend, to engage in unique mission play and features split-screen functionality.
  • Diverse In-game Environments – Battlegrounds traversed in the game range from the lonely, snow-clad mountains of Kazakhstan, to dark tunnels in the Afghanistan and the crowded slums of Rio.
  • Nonstop ActionModern Warfare 2 contains no cutscenes, so players are always engaged in the action, no matter where they are in the game.
  • New Breach Gameplay Mechanic – Players can now blaze their own paths through the game by “Breaching” formerly impregnable obstacles like walls and doors with explosives.
  • New Gadgets, Weapons and Weapons SystemModern Warfare 2 contains many new and updated weapons, new weapons attachments, as well as a variant of the multiplayer weapons customization system from Call of Duty 4, now available in the single player campaign.
  • New Perks and Increased Customization – Multiplayer modes feature new perks for leveling up, and for killstreaks and deathstreaks. Those awarded for streaks can customized in advance according to when they become available.

Haze Review

After reading some published reviews of HAZE, I almost didn’t play it…That would’ve been a mistake. THIS IS A GREAT GAME!

In the tradition of Star Trek (the original TV series), there’s a heavy political undertone throughout the story questioning the propaganda machines that create and support WARS. Just who REALLY are the “Good Guys” and who REALLY are the “Bad Guys”? Once you get into HAZE, you just may be surprised! This plot twist occurs approximately 20% into the game and it’s something that’s sadly missing from most of the highly predictable video game storylines of today…I found it to be “refreshing”. And while some of the cut scenes were little bit long for my taste, they are an excuse for a bathroom break.

As for sub-par graphics, I don’t get it. I saw nothing horribly wrong with the graphics of HAZE, unlike Rainbow Six Vegas where the graphics look like they’d be more at home on a green or orange phosphorus CRT terminal. Some of the environments got a little repetitive on some levels, but when you’re going through a hotel floor by floor or a village hut by hut, it’s sort of expected. Controls were right on…You’ll be able to target enemies without tweaking a thing. Weapons selection was very good and you should never run out of ammo anywhere in this game.

There are areas I would improve, but they aren’t deal-breakers and they’re easy enough to overcome. First, the Marine Buggy and Rebel 4×4 could’ve been so much better/easier and the AI isn’t very I at times. To DRIVE one of these vehicles, you must stand in front of it and press “square”. If you don’t know this, then you can spend a few minutes trying to figure out HOW to get the thing moving. For a “shooter game player”, the obvious first choice is to man the gun while someone else drives. Well, get on the vehicle at the fixed gun position and you’ll be waiting A LONG, LONG TIME for someone to hop in and drive. This makes no sense to me.

Another thing about the vehicles is they are awkward to drive. This isn’t particularly unusual in a video game, but don’t be surprised when your vehicle lands somewhere or some way weird, especially when boosting through a jump area. You also have a limited firing range and scope when operating one of the manned guns while the vehicle is stationary…In other words, you walk to the front of the vehicle, press “square” to enter and drive it into enemy fire, then press “square” again to exit the driver’s seat, then walk to the rear of the vehicle and press “square” again to take over the mounted gun and fire for a few seconds until the enemies move out of your firing range, then rinse and repeat. Obviously this is poor design and not fun at all…It could’ve been MUCH BETTER.

Now for a couple of areas where the game SHINES. The Nectar Grenades are PURE GENIUS! In fact, they became my weapon of choice. Lob one into a group of enemies and they freak out and start blasting away at each other until only one remains…Then he frequently raises his hands to the sky, utters a gutteral and triumphant “HA! HA! HA!”, then he EXPLODES in a most satisfying way…I LOVE IT!

The final assault on the Land Carrier is also VISUALLY STUNNING! Just the concept of a Land-Based Carrier traversing the landscape and mowing down trees and anything else in its path is another stroke of genius. The way it actually comes to fruition in the high-speed pursuit portion and then post-boarding of the carrier is just amazing…

The game is not very long timewise, but it is long on FUN FACTOR…And that’s what a video game should supply plenty of and often. DON’T BELIEVE the horrible reviews of HAZE because they simply aren’t justified. While it’s not perfect, I would rate it a solid 4.5/5.0 or 9.0/10.0, particularly for FUN. In fact, I’ll probably play through the campaign again, which is something I rarely do after beating a game. I’m also ready to put my money where my review is if there’s ever a HAZE 2!

Deliciously Horrible Fun – Mel – NY
This game can be a lot of fun, but in a completely different way than most. You know how sometimes it’s fun to make fun of bad movies?
That’s one angle you can take to enjoying this game. The fact that you can make fun of the game in coop mode with friends triples the train wreck entertainment.
It’s so bad, it’s good. If that makes any sense.

Generic-but for the price now you can’t go wrong – InterMillan – California
Haze once deemed the “Halo Killer” was one up the most anticipated games to exclusively hit PS3. But after playing Haze the only common thing that each game has is that they both start with the letter “H.” However, it’s not to say the game is putrid. While everyone expected something extraordinary, the trailer and the actual game were two complete different things. Haze is your plain generic FPS with a decent story line. And because it’s so generic its probably the reason why it failed. There just isn’t anything special about it, and initially gamers were rightfully upset to spend on something that’s so generic. In Haze you initially play as Sgt. Shane Carpenter, one of the many super soldiers working for Mantel Corp. Without giving away too much Carpenter eventually falls out of favor with Mantel. Now on to the actual grades.

Graphics: 2.5/5. The game doesn’t effectively utilize PS3’s capabilities, and on top of that there were too many glitches.
Sound: 3/5. If I had a dollar for every time I heard “Remember Your Promise to Merino” I could honestly afford to buy another console, really…..
Controls: 4/5. Fairly smooth and easy to pick up.
Difficulty: 2.5/5. Easy. There are no bosses and it’s fairly linear. It won’t challenge most gamers, but it’s not to stay it’s a walk in the park either.
Replay Value: 2/5. Very little replay value.
Weapons Choice: 3/5. The usual suspects-Assault Rifles, Rocket Launchers, Sniper Gun; however, being able to use nectar, knives, and nectar bombs give it a little more edge.
Story: 3.5/5. Better than expected. It’s engaging and has its twists.
Fun Value: 3/5. Enough action to keep anyone busy and kill time.

OVERALL. It’s bad game if you had to spend over . But for the prince now, which is less than , it’s definitely bargain and a good pick up.

Buzz. Kill. – Pyanfar Chanur – USA
Haze is an innovative new take on the First-Person Shooter: instead of temporary power-ups or massive weapons with limited ammo, you are given the bonus of a sensory boost that you can control…with the downside that you may overdose (which makes you lose control and start firing wildly).

Haze is a very good game. Not only are the graphics simply stellar (they remind me of Crysis), the weapons are well balanced and fairly effective. It also gets a boost from trying to inject a little depth into the story. Like “Blacksite: Area 51″, you start to realize that you’re not doing the Good Deed you thought you were. You progressively learn more behind the propaganda and decide to take on the side of Might to set things Right.

Haze also gives you a chance to balance the scales: while Nectar soldiers are powerful, they don’t think much. You can lay traps for them, harvest the drug off their bodies and use it against them, or play dead until they pass by.

The only real con to this game is all the other characters. Enemy AI is often stupid, and whomever is on your side is usually worse. Your own troops will run in front of you, often inches away. Your comrades will often need you to run back and rescue them, only to have to do it again before you get back to where you left off. They often die as you’re reviving them. I spent a lot of my time trying to run ahead of my team, get everything done, and then backtrack and revive whomever is left. They’re *that* inept.

The driving is also rather bad–it’s harder to control than the Grand Theft Auto series. You’ll often veer into a ditch or run up a tree.

Last, there are bugs. Vehicles disappear and respawn elsewhere, enemies get stuck in the map or stare at the walls, and your teammates sometimes stop running and nag you to keep moving, only to get shot in the back because they don’t turn around when ambushed. If it weren’t for these drawbacks, Haze would be a 5-star title.

If you want a First-Person Shooter on the PS3, with great graphics and innovative ideas, Haze is a good title. Just don’t expect any team-based help from the AI, and you’ll have a lot more fun.

Fast service and good product for money spent – Hilda Watts – Southampton, NJ
Looked all over for this game, most Game Stops had a used version and one didn’t work. The price was
very reasonable and shipping was extremely fast. Glad I shopped on Amazon.

Very frustrating – A Reviewer – USA
Sadly this is a very half-hearted sequel to Secret Rings which sacrifices all of that game’s speed for a gimmicky sword mechanic. The game’s slow, the combat’s shallow, the bosses are either extremely easy or controller-throwing-frustrating. Visuals are nice but otherwise there’s almost nothing noteworthy here. Not to mention you can beat it in under 3 hours.

For a good recent Sonic game check out Sonic Unleashed or Sonic and the Secret Rings.Sadly Black Knight deserves to be forgotten along with duds like Shadow the Hedgehog, and Sonic the Hedgehog (2006).

Awesome game – Penny Shek – New Haven, CT USA
This is a good game. The controls aren’t difficult to handle, and I personally think it’s better than many other Sonic games. The graphics are clear and vivid. The only thing I didn’t like was that it was too short.

Check Out Final Fantasy Tactics Advance for $34.99

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance Review

I have two copies of FFTA in my personal collection and Ive been wanting to get another CAUSE ITS JUST THAT GOOD. Problem is that there are two versions of this game. One is the first year of production edition, the next is the reprint second edition.

The first editions run beautifully and Ive NEVER had a problem with them, but every one of the second edition Ive bought (all used cause its near impossible to find a reasonable priced new copy nowadays) have been prone to deleting save games and not being able to save AT ALL. And with a game like FFTA that has a close to an hour long unskipable opening sequence, that is a terrible thing. Not to mention that the cartridges themselves seem of second best quality, fitting together improperly.

There are two ways you can tell the difference, but both are found on the sticker on the front of the cartridge. The first ed. games cartridge sticker is only black and white with only the title on the front and has the product code (found on the bottom right corner) AGB-AFXE-USA. The second ed. cartridge sticker has a picture of the group of main characters on the front and has the product code AGB-ATKE-USA. So AFXE is a first ed. while ATKE is a second.

Now I’m not saying EVERY SINGLE ATKE copy of FFTA is broken, but that has been my experience. So if you plan on buying a copy, CONTACT THE SELLER AND FIND OUT WHICH VERSION IT IS. And make sure they have TESTED IT, AND I MEAN REALLY TESTED IT. Just turning it on to see if the title screen pops up isn’t going to cut it because the problems don’t show up until at least an HOUR into gameplay (the first time you get to save).

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance Feature

  • Three young men open an ancient tomb, and unleash a magical tomb that turns their town into a kingdom of swords & sorcery. They’ll have to take up the arts of combat and magic, to fight for the soul of their home!
  • Battle your way through dozens of turn-based conflicts, using your strategic thinking skills to come out on top
  • Command your squad of fighters, mages, and monsters and create battle plans that suit their unique abilities
  • Team up with a friend to battle deadly opponents — but be careful – if you don’t follow the rules of combat, you’ll wind up in jail!

Tame Version of Final Fantasy Tactics – Joseph Mckinney – USA
This game is very different from Final Fantasy Tactics, for better or worse. It’s more forgiving (most of the time) when characters “die” in battle. The ability system also has more in common w/ Final Fantasy IX’s ability system than with Final Fantasy Tactics’ ability system. I could go on w/ the changes, but I’ll let the players find out for themselves. It’s really fun though, despite the changes. Newbies will enjoy it too since it has NOTHING to do w/ the original Final Fantasy Tactics either. Highly recommended.

Great SRPG! – Alex Litvin – Houston
As many people are aware, FFTA came before FFTA2 and after FFT. As such its difficulty level lies in betwixt the 2 games; not too hard but not too easy. Plays like FFTA2 rule-wise (laws in effect) however some abilities play out like FFT while others are FFTA2-ish. can be used to unlock the Libra clan privilege in FFTA2 by placing it in the DS or DSI while FFTA2 is present ad loading or starting a new game.

Dissapointing sequel to the original FFT – RicoLen – California
So when I heard this game was coming out, I got really excited as there are few good tactics games, and the PS1’s Final Fantasy Tactics was spectacularly great. It was a mature, well written, well balanced game. The battle system was addicting, the story was engaging (patterned after the history of the war of the roses), and the characters were mature.

This is not that game.

The battle system was literally the only thing that had any thought put into and because of it the new law system superimposed on the traditional tactical engine all role-playing strategy games use seemed nothing more than random annoyances than vehicle for creating more challenging battles. And with a referee in the game to watch you and pull you out of battle for X number of turns if you break the ‘laws’ of the battle it trivialized the already weak storyline even further.

Gone are the battle hardened warriors, wizards, generals & engineers and instead you have fluffy little cutesy animals given a humanoid form to help a little boy find his way back to his world.

This game is to Final Fantasy Tactics what the 1960’s Batman movie with Adam West is to The Dark Knight, except that FFTA came after the first Tactics set the bar for all other role-playing strategy games.

What a waste of money this game was.

I suppose this game would be good if you’re a ten year old… But if you want a more mature RPS try Vandal Hearts.

Grand Theft Auto Vice City Stories Review

This game is virtually no different than it’s predecessors. If you’re a fan you won’t be disappointed at all.
In fact, the strange thing is I find myself enjoying this game more than I have a lot of the other recent GTA titles.
The graphics are good, the radio stations are AWESOME, the dialogue is hilarious.
I’m not the biggest GTA fan in the world and I loved this installment. I actually became pretty addicted to it for a while, though eventually I did become bored with the plot and started going bezerk using cheats, which is fun in itself.

If you do buy this, please, please READ THE MANUAL!!! It’s a work of art in itself. They designed it to look like the National Enquirer, complete with hilarious articles and personals ads. It’s a great addition to a great game.

Grand Theft Auto Vice City Stories Overview

Having just made it back onto the streets of Liberty City after a long stretch in maximum security, Tommy Vercetti is sent to Vice City by his old boss, Sonny Forelli. They were understandably nervous about his re-appearance in Liberty City, so a trip down south seemed like a good idea. But all does not go smoothly upon his arrival in the glamorous, hedonistic metropolis of Vice City. He’s set up and is left with no money and no merchandise. Sonny wants his money back, but the biker gangs, Cuban gangsters, and corrupt politicians stand in his way. Most of Vice City seems to want Tommy dead. His only answer is to fight back and take over the city himself.

Vice City, 1984. Opportunity abounds in a city emerging from the swamps, its growth fueled by the violent power struggle in a lucrative drugs trade. One bad decision later and that job is about to get much harder. Kicked out onto the streets of a city torn between glamour and gluttony, Vic is faced with a stark choice – build an empire or be crushed.

Impressive graphic overhaul
Vice City Stories is a monumental improvement upon the previous Grand Theft Auto title on the PlayStation Portable. For one, the draw distance has nearly doubled so that buildings and features can be seen across town. Character models and cars are as detailed as if they were on the PlayStation 2 and include all of the shine and transparency that looked so great in other Grand Theft Auto titles. Players can even choose the clothing that Vic will wear in Vice City. Overall, Rockstar has substantially increased all visual elements so that you don’t need to make any graphical sacrifices when taking Grand Theft Auto on the road.

Even the city appears as never before- people on the street will notice you and recognize you for the actions you’ve taken on previous missions. Some even comment about actions you’ve taken and give you an idea about how the public feels about your notoriety.

Expanded gameplay
New characters never before seen in Vice City add new twists to the story gamers were introduced to in the PlayStation 2 Vice City title. With a playtime of over 15 hours for the storyline alone, there is certainly plenty to see and hear in and around the city. Choose from various objectives to complete such as doing stunts for a chocolate commercial, chasing a known drug dealer to swipe his loot, and patrolling your neighborhood for specific thugs. Knock down objectives and get swept up in the plot or sit back and explore the big city- the choice is yours!

The hallmark style of “sandbox” gameplay is ever present and players can (forcefully) take control of nearly any vehicle they see and roam the streets in search of interesting characters and opportunities. In addition to cars, busses, bikes, and trucks, you can now cruise the waterways of Vice City in a large number of water craft! Jet-skis, motorboats, and even fishing vessels are there for the taking whether you’re tracking the bad guy or just killing time. If you need even more mobility, consider one of the many arial options such as helicopters- helpful for taking out enemies from afar.

The Grinch – Sing Your Heart Out! Review

I bought this game for my grandchildren who are 6 and 8 years old. I was astonished to find that we had a blast playing it! The kids and I played for over an hour, which is a long time because this game requires energy and patience! They ask for it every time they come over. Honestly, it takes awhile to put together the first time you play and then you have to break it down to put it away, but when I think of the teamwork and the hilarity that happens when we play, it is worth it! Rather than compete against each other, the players all form a team against the Grinch and that is wonderful! I think the kids like that, too. Sometimes the sleigh will start after only about 20 seconds of singing but they vary it and sometimes the sleigh takes a couple of minutes of singing to start down the slope. Overall, one of the most fun purchases I have ever made for the grandkids. I rated it a 4 out of 5 only because I am sure it will break down and not last as long as the many times the kids will probably want to play it.

The Grinch – Sing Your Heart Out! Feature

The Grinch – Sing Your Heart Out! Overview

The game of team-work, singing and surprising sleigh-rides! The Grinch is out to steal the Whos’ gifts-but your family can save the day. Only your singing will warm the Grinch’s heart and bring his sleigh full of stolen gifts speeding down Mt. Crumpit and back to Who-ville! Collect Who tiles and gifts with each player’s turn. But watch out-draw the wrong tile and the Grinch will steal the gifts back! When that happens, team up with your family or friends: If you sing LONG ENOUGH and LOUD ENOUGH, the Electronic Singing Detector will hear your singing and actually launch the sleigh on its wild ride down Mt. Crumpit! Connect all 12 Who Tiles plus matching gifts, and you win! I Can Do That! Games Ages: 5+

Disappointing – Jennifer Lindberg – Rehoboth, Ma USA
It is a fun idea. However, we definitely did sing out heart out and the grinch sleigh just does’nt work right!

Frustrating! – Joshua D. Curley – Ramsey, NJ United States
This game is style over substance. I tried to play this with my 4 year olds. Admittedly, they enjoyed playing with the game pieces while I labored to put the game together. It does not go together easily or seem very stable even when assembled. The heavy mechanism sits precariously at the top of the cardboard mountain and the sleigh sits even more precariously at the edge of the mechanism. A 3-D game board is a neat idea but SO poorly conceived. In the end, the sleigh NEVER released while we sang our hearts out. It did release a couple of times without anyone singing and when pushed the sleigh would crash off the track on the edge of the mountainside. Eventually the kids lost interest so we never actually “played” the game as intended. After all the time to assemble, it was incredibly frustrating that it didn’t work right.

who doesn’t like to shout? – B’ham Mom – Birmingham, AL
quite a fun game, and I was actually sad to put it away with the Christmas stuff and will be delighted to bring it back out next year. Caveat… depending on how much else Santa leaves, he may not feel like setting this up on Christmas Eve. It took maybe 10 minutes, but those are precious minutes on Christmas Eve! The main issue for me was getting the sled track to stay together. Once I got that, the rest was no problem whatsoever. It’s great fun for the kids and the grownups to shout their favorite Christmas tunes, and my absolute favorite part of the game is that the players aren’t competing against each other, but are playing as a team against the grinch. Glad I bought it.

Breath of Fire 3 PSP Review

Breath of Fire 3 for the PSX was one of my favorite RPGs in school. This port for the PSP lives up to it’s former glory completely with no lag, no serious glitches (that I ran into anyway), and even some goodies like a fishing mini-game playable from the start menu and a gallery where you can unlock artwork. The controls work perfectly and the game runs great on a US PSP 3000, even though it was released in Europe.

This is a must get for any PSP RPG fans.

Breath of Fire 3 PSP Feature

Breath of Fire 3 PSP Overview

The legendary RPG series Breath of Fire comes to PSP with tales of long forgotten worlds, intrepid heroes and ancient, mystical powers. A destiny awaits you…A small boy on the run… a dragon reborn in flames…The last of an extinct race, with mighty powers. A small boy, outcast from society. Ryu is both, a dormant dragon, awakened by miners, turned into an innocent child. Ryu may not remember his fiery past, but is destined to regain his powers, fulfilling his epic destiny…Appearing for the first time on a handheld console, Breath of Fire III is the third instalment of this classic RPG series. Graphically enhanced to take advantage of the PSP’s screen resolution, Breath of Fire III follows the fate of Ryu as he embarks on an epic quest to discover his ancestry and understand the dragon power that has awoken inside of him. The PSP version also includes a bonus Fishing mode at 18 different locations in the game world. Thanks to the Game Sharing function Breath of Fire III owners can also send this Fishing game to their friends to enjoy even if they do not have a copy of the game.

I love the classics – Ryan Cutchall – South Central, PA
I played the daylights out of Breath of Fire III for PS1. So much in fact, that my disc doesn’t work anymore. Good thing I got a PSP. Boo to Capcom for not giving it a North American release but what can ya do aside from import it from the UK? :-p

Great RPG – Billy Gray –
The only RPG that is better than this game is Final Fantasy VII. Every one should own this game. Great story and good side quests.

good game – Joe Phythian – Sequim, WA USA
This is a good game that I played on the original playstation game consol. It is just the same on the PSP system. My one gripe (and it probably isn’t a big deal to most people) is that even thought the description says eropean “english” version, the instruction manual is NOT in english. I wish they could have released this game in the U.S.

Review Warcraft III Battle Chest

Feb.02, 2010 in Computer Games Leave a Comment

Warcraft III Battle Chest Best Review

Greetings nerds,

Let the tale of this epic game be heard,

throughout the community.

Its addictive nature has no immunity.

If you like winning,

You should make a hero in the beginning.

There are four heroes per each of four races,

and each hero deadly in his own way to slaughter creatures he faces.

But beware of an orcish general Blademaster.

He is strong like rock, and hated like a bastard,

by players who do not play orc,

especially when he purchases a deadly orb.

However, despite minor issues concerning the balance,

in the grand scheme of things, this is golden, and has no chance,

of disappointing you, a warrior who longs for more battles,

only for the gratitude of victories, not for some silly gamer medals,

that you earn when you play some silly games on your XBox.

This is different, it actually rocks.

So there you go, mortals, you may buy this now that you know,

how great it is in my opinion, so hurry up and go,

to your local store and buy it, or buy it here.

After much training, sweat, and blood your enemies will soon fear,

your name on Battle.net, you bet.

Review Ear Force XLC Stereo Headset with Mic

Ear Force XLC Stereo Headset with Mic Best Review

I’ve been using these headphones for about 2 weeks now and I love them. They are great quality, leather, noise canceling, and comfortable. I plug these in using the audio adapter and had no problems with any hissing or background noises. The voice chat DOES work, you need to go to your Xbox settings and play voice chat through both speakers and headphones. The voice chat can be hard to hear and require the game volume to be turned down. The volume is excellent no problems trying to get the highest volume. Your ears can get a little achy and pain after wearing them longer than 2 hours. You can practically hear all the noises in the game. In Modern Warfare 2 it’s a great help to heard the enemy footsteps and it really helps! Overall I highly recommend them for your first set of headphones for the Xbox or if you are unconvinced about these.

Review Scholastic I Spy Funhouse

Scholastic I Spy Funhouse Best Review

This is a fun game for my 4 year old to play. I bought him the 3-5 age I Spy but he was bored with it. He’s a little advanced for his age because he has older siblings. He likes this one instead. Sometimes he needs help because they hide the items pretty well. Overall it’s easy for him to navigate. He gets so excited when he earns another ticket toward entering the fun house, which is the ultimate goal.
