Cars: Mater-National Review

My son loves this game, but he gets a little frustrated with it. He is 5, almost 6, and I wish we would have waited to give it to him until he had more experience with DS games. He really enjoys it when it isn’t too difficult, but it seems to get a little hard compared to some other games he has – like the Hot Wheels Beat That game (we LOVE it). This game is a little different to steer and not quite as easy.
I know it will be a favorite eventually, it is very cute to watch and listen to the characters!

We did research on this game, and found many “professional” gamers dislike for the simplicity. Let me tell you that for $[...] this game is a steal. My two boys play it all the time, and jump around while steering their skateboard, and trying tricks that no human could ever pull off or survive from. Some of the background music choices aren’t my favorites by any stretch of the imagination, but if you can get over that then this game is great for young gamers. Toys R Us was selling this game for $[...] this past fall.

Game Storyline
Players can choose to play as Tony Hawk or one of eight original characters. Additionally, they can create their own character with the Create-A-Skater feature. You can create your own skateboard, too, or simply choose from a wide variety of stock skateboards.

Granted I got this during a gold deal…but it is a great game even at regular price. Good graphics. It was a little tricky to master at first, as there are a number of special moves you have to do to get lots of points. However once you learn them it is fantastic. Highly recommended!

Age of Empires III: The WarChiefs Expansion Pack Review

First, let me make it clear that this is an expansion pack to Age of Empires III. You have to own a copy of that game first. I know that might trip some people up, so let’s get that out of the way.

When I bought this game, I expected to get some new indian civilizations out of it. I got a lot more. First, all the graphics for the game are better – not just for the new civilizations but for all of them. Second, the indians come along with new cards (of course), but again also new cards for your other civilizations. Now I can have the French build a Saloon to train mercenaries. And the Dutch can train some Ninja’s (who have a new stealth skill). Very fun! There are also several new maps which I really liked. Of course there is also a new Scenario in two Acts. I thought most of the levels in the Scenario were well done, but a couple of them were just annoying. That didn’t stop me from playing through to the last one – Custer’s Last Stand!

Some aspects of game play are also better for all civilizations: the healers, for example, just always heal anyone nearby who is resting. You no longer have to tell them to heal.

In short, I wasn’t expected the whole AOE III to get better, but it did – in every way. I have really enjoyed this pack and am looking forward to purchasing the Asian Dynasties soon.

Fallout 3 Review

I’ll admit, that previously I’ve been drawn to games with a fairly linear gameplay style. Not linear in the way that there’s only one single path and it can only be traversed one way, but linear in the way that the game can baby you and keep you on the right track, even if you’re given a decent scope to explore.

Well it turns out that I was just looking for the right massive, open game. Because here you’re free to be your own man. Sure, you can tackle the main quest and it’s decent. But the real treat is the exploration. There’s a positively huge world to explore, and even more underground.

Lets say you have some kind of vendetta against the raiders. They roam the Wastes, pillaging like metal-head versions of pirates, and you don’t like them. Maybe out of strong sense of justice, or maybe one of them just looked at you funny. Well feel free to wander around, picking them off from on-high with a rifle, sneaking in to set up mines before tossing in a grenade to stir up some carnage, or put on your power armor and run in, guns blazing.

There’s a big town, the first one you’re likely to come across, with an undetonated atomic bomb sitting in the middle. You can take it on as a mission from the town sheriff to disarm it, or have the mysterious Mister Burke rope you in to rigging it up to blow. And you’re fully capable of doing so, climbing to the top of Tenpenny Tower, and watching the mushroom cloud in the distance as you vaporize the city, and all its residences. It’s all up to you. Scurge of the wastes, savior, or anywhere in between. Get into the slave trade business, or shoot your way through the traders’ encampment and free the slaves.

The only legitimate complaints I know of for the game are the controls with the VATS targeting system, but you don’t even really have to use it. In fact it’s often better and more fun not to. Sometimes the game doesn’t even feel like an RPG. Sometimes it’s an action game, sometimes it’s a shooter, but it’s always an adventure.

The graphics are… terrific. Sure everyhing’s grainy and brown and dark and bleak. But somehow it manages to be pretty anyway. Everything might be ugly, but it’s ugly in a really good looking way. I’m trying to think of a celebrity to use as an example, but feel that would be in bad tastes.

The facial animations can tend to be a little robotic, but the voice acting is top-notch and lively, from everyone. And in a game with so much dialog, that’s very welcome.

Speaking of sound, I was surprised to end up really loving the soundtrack. And I don’t mean the ominous background tracks made for atmosphere, but the 1940s hits played from the game’s “Galaxy News Radio”. I, being a youngster, never even heard any of this music. But after having it as a constant companion in my fares across the Wastes I grew to love it.

My first time through Fallout 3 I played for over 60 hours, and didn’t even do everything (keep in mind I did add four of the add-on packs). And just a few days ago I started a new file.

Speaking of add-on packs, there are five. Broken Steel, Mothership Zeta, Point Lookout, The Pitt, and Operation: Anchorage. Personally, I found Operation Anchorage to be boring and linear. The Pitt was similar, but with a better story and an uglier world to explore. Point Lookout is a valuable addition. And Broken Steel continues the main story and raises the level cap. I haven’t played Mothership Zeta, so I can’t comment. But I only recommend Broken Steel and Point Lookout (which are offered together on a buyable disc if you don’t have access to XBOX Live). The standalone Fallout 3 is the most powerful and by comparison the add-ons fall short in general.

But in all, I found Fallout 3 to be a fantastic game, in my top-ten list of all time. And in a game-playing career of somewhere around fourteen years, that’s saying something. If you’re on the fence about whether or not to buy, I’d say buy.

This game is fun and is somewhat like Oblivion futurized. Some controls are hard to adapt to and its introduction is very easy to grasp. I would definitely recommend buying this game.

No game can compete with Fallout 3 – Nobody – Colorado
I rented this twice and never got more than an hour into it. After a year of still wondering what there was to be discovered on that disk, I broke down and bought it. It’s so hard to get momentum and I was overwhelmed beyond belief for the first 15 hours. Then it took off and everything else I’ve played seems boring in comparison, and I thought Oblivion, San Andres, etc.. were all incredible. The gameplay has everything you’d want from a save anywhere anytime feature to mostly non-respawning enemies to adjustable difficulty. The exploration music is fantastic and the graphics are rediculous.

The size of the game boggles the mind, you’d think it took ten years to create. The variety of places and people you meet, choices you make, guilt you feel, this isn’t even a game, it’s like jacking into the matrix. The only downside is if you don’t have enough time to invest, you might lose sleep over wondering whatelse there is out there in the wasteland. I can’t wait to buy and explore the add-on’s.

I just can’t believe I tried it twice and almost missed out the most rock-solid gaming experience out there.

This boxing game is worth the money,
the graphics are outstanding and the fighting feels very real,
Only thing I don’t like is the haymaker, which can be used by unskilled fighters ot beat opponents

I played Fight Night 3 on my XBOX 360 & it was awesome!
I played it for the PSP as well, and it is not as good as it is on a regular console like a 360 or PS3 you know?
But this game is awesome!

This is one of the finest boxing games available on the PS3, especially for the graphics and controls. The AI can be rewarding/challenging and you may find yourself picking up on some strategy early on. The ‘build your fighter’ option is highly customizable and the training can be as fun as the boxing.. kindof like a minigame.
What destroys this game is the extremely long load times on the main menu and between fights. It’s literally 4 or 5 seconds wait time, ever single time you move to another option in the main menu. This may not kill it for everyone, but I’d warn that you rent this game first to see if you can handle it.
I’ve got Fight Night Round 4 now.. equally good gameplay but without the excessive load/wait times and it does seem to be a more straightforward, professional title over Round 3.

– you can get this game for – used just about everywhere — but I recommend that you use that money towards Round 4 if you have to have a boxing game.

This game is one of the best boxing games I’ve EVER played – however, the load times are ridiculous. You’d think they would make better use of the PS3’s hard drive to reduce this, but alas, they didn’t. At times it feels like you have to wait for the game to load after every punch (see Playstation 1 vs. Sega Saturn), which is what puts a real damper on the gameplay – just when you’re hyped up for the next fight, you have to get up, grab a drink, use the restroom. then sit and wait some more… Fun: 10 out of 10. Gameplay: 2 out of 10 just because of the load times.

i have view and review , before buy it, i totally happy, some reviews say too loud, some quiet no wind coming out of the fan, i tell you, 100% happy is as loud as the fan for xbox, no no big deal, and air flow, let me tell you place u hand on top, and think a guess this is no much but as xbox place on top, you can fell any air going out, so is almost sealed, and after a couple hours of playing touched my 360 , i can not belive it how cool was , so yep go for but i just got it so i can not tell how long the fan will last, but as preforming a 8 of 10
